Strawberry Basil Sangria, Recipe

Processed with VSCOcam with s2 preset

A couple weeks ago Josh and I had friends over to our new apartment. I had been craving my first sangria of the season and I am a sucker for basil so this one won my attention. Give it a try it at your next get together and let me know what you think!

strawberry basil sangria recipe:

(serves eight)

  • 1/2 cup limoncello
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 12 basil leaves
  • Finely grated zest of 1 lemon, plus 1 lemon, thinly sliced, for garnish
  • 1/4 cup lemonade
  • 2 bottles rosé

Active time: 10 minutes
Total time: At least 2 hours

In a large pitcher or punch bowl, stir together all ingredients except wine and lemon slices. Refrigerate 2 hours or as long as overnight. When ready to serve, stir in the wine. Pour into ice-filled glasses, garnish with lemon slices, and serve.

I loved this refreshing, easy to make sangria. The only thing I would change from the recipe is to add more basil. It had soft tones of basil, but I want to taste it!  So next time I am going to do a few less strawberries and one more handful of basil. Enjoy! Recipe from Oprah Magazine.
